Default cantainer, progress

Hi guys. don't where this belongs. so I thought I would put it hear.

as some of you know. I got one of those ocean cargo cantainers. and , I am building my own wood shope in it.
I got the walls up. and some cabnets. and tubines. making my table saw tables today. and got my new band saw yesterday. I is sweat. from Grizzly. the Go55. thanks Kevin. it is sweat. I got the 1 horse power though. and also the resaw fence. still need to level the floor screws. but mmm nice. also I got a new shop vac. a wall mont. with a 30' hose. I like this becouse I don't have room for a movabale one. and this will suck the buzzard off the shicen wagon. Its not wet an dry. but don't like that any way. it fits up on the wall out of the way. I also got a small compresser. just enouph to blow the saw dust out of my projects. and is small enouph to hide away.so now I can blow stuff, and suck stuff, ARK< ARK, can 't wait till I can cut stuff again, but getting there. still not sure how I will cool this monster, in 110 degree heat. but working with the electrition to see If I have enouph power to service another work shop. I just might have to scroll at night or early morning. no probleam. looking into a soler kind of thing. for more power. Hubby seems to be happy to get the old work shop all to himself. but didn't like it when I took all my tools out. but too bad. I will shar, but not with that dang old drated cygar smoke which i am aleargic too. anyway sorry about the long winded post. but miss you guys. and wonted to keep you updated. always. your friend Evie

Sounds like you are having a good time getting things set up. Cigar smoke.......yucky. No wonder you wanted your own shop.
Miss you around here. What are you going to scroll first when you get back to it?

LOL. Funny post, Evie! Sounds like you're having a ball.

Ironically, I just got my new bandsaw a week or two ago - the Rikon 1.5 HP 10-325. But it's been so dang cold / chilly in the garage, I haven't actually used it yet. (Good weather this weekend, though - unfortunately I had other projects - but SPRING'S COMIN'!!)

Also, we are in the process of building a separate workshop - right now in the design / permit phase. It's amazing how a HOUSE ever gets built! So one thing that really caught my eye - the WALL mount vac. What kind is it and where'd you get it and will it really do the job when it comes to band saws and table saws and planers? (I'm gonna need to get the buzzard off my <what kind of?> wagon one of these days.)

Keep us posted, along with the pics!
Funny post, my friend!

G'day Evie,
Glad to hear you're having fun and that things are coming along.
If you haven't lined the container yet, line the inside with reflective foil and then pack with insulating bats.
Another thing that you'll find will have a quite a remarkable effect on dropping the temp. is to paint the outside white, or if you want a greater effect paint with heat reflective paint.

Then plant creepers and or grape vines that will crawl all over it.

You'll then end up with a dark cool cave

Can't wait till you get finished.

Your mate

Kevin, I don't know if it is the same but I have the Hoover GUV wall mount vacuum. GUV stands for Garage utility vacuum. Works pretty nice but I just use it for clean up so far. Have not connected it directly to any tools. Right now I just use it for the scroll saw cleanup. But its suction is pretty good.

Sounds like you're a busy camper with lots going on Evie!! At least it doesn't seem as much like "work" when it's fun!! All the new tools have to be a delight too!! Glad it's working out for you.

Evie

What a great Idea. A shipping container. I wish I had thought of that before I build my own shipping container when I added on to my shop!!!!

Gosh John, I wish I would have known that before I put the inside walls in. but I will paint it with the reflective paint.
could you give me a source. also. I am planing on doing some plantings outside the hot wall. I already have some hony suckal on the other wall. the top really neads some kind of heat resestance. not vines. for they would tangale up with the turbines.

as far as the vacume. it is only a carodge vacume. but it is really powerfull. and I normaly sweap up first anyway. don't like the wet and dry. it is really nice. can pick up lots of dust. have to be cairfull on fire hasard stuff. but I am anyway even on the normale vacs. I got mine on amazon.com. on the tool crib. there is another one there that is a wall hanging shop vac, for only $79.00 wet and dry vac. it only has a 15' hose, but comes with a 18'. if requied. it is also powerfull. and pretty nice. I just like this one. it is the hoover. and will do what I wont it to do. Grizzly has one also. I really like it. for it hooks to the wall. don't have to move a monster around. and just empty the 5 gallon, cantainer.never have to reaplase the fillter, no bags or etc. just don't pick up nailes. or, big wood ships. and no flamibales. workes for me.also, with a 30' hose. I just take it outside the door to vacum my trucks out. and what ever. cool.
Chase, the noise leavel is not bad, pretty much normale for a vac, except it don't follow you around the shope.
