| I gotta get organized So I'd never touched a scroll saw before Christmas. Now I've got my wife coming home with orders for her coworkers, several people from church asking me to make things for them, my pastor wanting to put my work on the church web site to build up business for me (like I need it right now), my Mom asking me to make decorations for her remodled living room, and oh yeah I still have to finish (er start) a portrait for my Dad's B-day in a week. And forget about the other 2 projects that I've already started on just for fun...and the trying my hand at the trains that John posted..forget it. IS THIS NORMAL?

| Kevin,
You must be doing some nice work, and all I can say is that all of the sellers on here are going to be so jealous. Consider yourself lucky if you are enjoying the art.
Good For You.............
Tom

| that is normal for scrollers yes
I would love to see some of your work.
I find that when my life is not in a state of chaos it is too boring.
Mind you I am the least organized person in the world.
Scrolling is one of the best ways to be the stresses of every day life. Enjoy it

| I dont know if its normal or not, but I'm in the same boat. I got myself a saw for entertainment, and decided I would try and make a few things and set up at a craft fair . Well so far all I have done is make things for people at work, and friends of friends .... Around Christmas I actually took a week off of work, just to catch up with things people had ordered. So normal or not, your not alone |

| Well I would say yes this is normale. when folks see your talent, they wont your work. maybe becouse your good. or maybe to make you feel good. if you are in this for the money. those folks are maybe, a one time deal. and it is great for the motavation. but if you are in this for a hobby. it can be over whelming. I know my friends see my work, and wont it all. but not so willing to pay. and that gets in the way. you do have to set boundries. and prices. if you make something, and someone wonts to buy it, sell it as is. and make another to do the same thing, for now. but if you think it will sell like hotcakes. you might be putting youself out of wood and work, and no sell. so do what you wish to do. give them as gifts, or sell as is. and learn along the way. don't be over whelmed, put your foot down. and set a price. and boundries. hope this helps. yor friend Evie |

| YEp Evie is Sooooooooooooooooooooo on the button. I made a clock to sell to a co-worker, and priced it at what I thought was reasonable( so did the guy who purchased it) Another co-worker said I was crazy to charge that much for it. I ended up making $40.00profit and it took me two days working on it. I told him if he would work for $20.00 a day, I have a lot of work he can do, starting with kissing my.... well you know lol |
