Default New turnings from the lathe

I haven't sanded the edges down yet but these are just off the lathe turnings of a different style. Having fun with the lathe and trying something new and different all the time keeps me from getting bored.

We never get bored when we have a lathe .
Lidded boxes incorporated into off set eccentric pedestal base's .
What a great and novel idea.
Just another way of showing that the possibilities of unique things that can be turned on a lathe are endless.
I can see that a little sanding and then a finish applied to those will make them one of a kind works of art.

You sure have a nice supply of that colorful red cedar.
Thanks for sharing them with us.

Really neat concept! Can't wait to see some more refined ones. I'm guessing you built an eccentric chuck?????

No I actually use a standard Talon chuck to make them. Here is where I saw it done.

Hey Rick,

Totally amazing, after looking at that video, and your pics, I would have thought that he must have learned from you and Bill Y.
You guys are incredible.
