| Quick pyrography ? quick one hopefully someone can answer. Il read more on the pyro topic on the casrving board later on. How is a pattern typically transferred to wood for pyrography work? I got a used colwood burner I want to play with tonight! Thanks in advance . Dale |

| Usually graphite paper. I was playing around with woodburning before I got into scrolling. Actually it was the woodburning that introduced me to the scrolling and once I started scrolling I've only burned one thing. I like scrolling a lot more.
What I would typically do is trace the pattern onto the wood with graphite paper. And since tracing every single line is rather time consuming I would trace just enough to give myself reference points and then fill in freehand as I needed to in order to get the desired effect.
I wasn't the greatest by any stretch of the imagination but that's the way I was doing it when I quit.
Have fun!

| I use carbon paper, there is some that leaves a minimum of residue that can be erased after you are finished burning. I think Laura Irish has some great books on it..
