Well, I just came in on this and certainly don't have time to read everything, but who cares if you're a woodworker or not? If you enjoy what you're doing then that's all there is to it. Why do you need someone else's approval or opinion if you're a woodworker or not? In my eyes I'm a darn good woodworker and I don't care what anyone else says. If they like my stuff, fine. If they want to buy my stuff, that's even better. But I don't need anyone else's opinion if I'm a woodworker or not. And I must be pretty good as I get some high prices for my stuff, more than I would ever pay! LOL

You are what you are and you don't need anyone else's opinion to confirm that.

Betty

Yep, some things are like a bad cramp. They just won't go away.
You left out the part that approximately 60% of the posts are from you.

Default Assembled Column

Difficult to remove the machined slices from MDF I dressed the edges little bit and glued all slices together... Pictures shows some rough work i did..but still the column looks great I will sand it after they stick together tightly and will paint the column

Height of the column is 320mm (12.6 inches) and dia is about 64mm(2.5")

CAN I DO THE LATHE TYPE WORK...

If this is done on a lathe, why are there seams in it? Even if you glued it together there would be no seams once it is turned. Why are you dressing edges on turnings? There should be no edges, no matter what. Oh, did I tell you, my husband also turns so I know what a finished turned piece should look like. To answer your question, can you do the lathe work? Not in my book. Now I am out of here as I am sure the rest are. You can keep talking to yourself!
