Default Question for Army military

Ok, here's my question. When I was in my lawyer's office the other day, I was admiring his display of medals, ribbons & patches. He's a retired LTC, attack helicopter pilot in the Vietman war & a Ranger. One patch interested me and I forgot to ask him what it was. It looked like a dragon head to me & was purple I believe, and I thought, after I had left the office, it would make a great Christmas ornament to add to my military collection. Any one know what it is I am talking about?

Betty,
I went out doing a quick search of Army Patches (being military I like them also) and found this site. http://www.usarmypatches.com/ Just a quick run through and I found a dragon, maybe a little more time will find what you are looking for.

THAT WOULD BE IT!! Thanks so much. I didn't realize he was airborne also. I guess with him as a lawyer, he won't take any stuff from anyone, huh? LOL Which airborne is it? I know the Screaming Eagles & 81st, or is it 101st, isn't that screaming eagles? I would like to know when people ask what it is.

Thanks!

Betty

Not sure but in Vietnam I served with 101st Airborne, but was not jump certified. In Vietnam it was considered Airborne-Air Mobile so not all were paratroopers.

Will....I'm an old retired Navy man but I believe that's the shoulder patch for the XVIII Airborne Corps also known as "Sky Dragons".

Thanks for the information & sites everyone. The military know what it is, but I like to tell anyone who asks what it is. And I was corrected by my hubby, 82nd airborne not 81st! How could I forget? They are at Ft. Bragg where my father was on reserve duty when he had his heart attack in 1978. I spent 3 weeks at the BOQ there, interesting, to say the least. And that's another story!
