Default Scrooge

This time of year means different things to different people. Some will find great comfort in celebrating the birth of God's only son, our Saviour. Others will worship differently while some not all. We should respect all means of celebration.

But it will also be a time of sadness for some. There are folks out there who are alone or destitute or shut-in that will spend this most joyous of seasons with little or nothing to celebrate. There are others who have recently lost a dear friend or loved one that will find it difficult to find joy. There are service men/women separated from their families because our world is not a peaceful place. For these, the season is a hurtful reminder that something or someone is missing from their life. We should never forget that this season should be one of giving, of providing comfort where needed, of sacrificing even if for just a few days/weeks so that others may find a spark of joy and hope in their hearts.

May we all do those things that will bring a tear to an eye or smile to a mouth. It is a gift you will never forget.

To All my friends here, be merry this season; make it one of giving, make it one of love, make it one of sharing. Make it a safe one, too.

Though you may not know it, your words themselves were, in a way, a gift.

All the best to you and yours as well Mike. Merry Christmas.

Well said Mike! My house at Christmas is the house that our friends flock to that have no family around. We celebrate friendships that are made and the great times we had throughout the year. This is a holiday season that is usually filled with lots love and laughter. I can't wait for everyone to show up on Christmas day. It just makes the holiday complete when everyone is here!
Happy Holidays to all my scrolling friends, or should I say family!

Mike, that was really a very nice tribute to the spirit of Christmas, Thank you for the beautiful message, You are so right, too many people are caught up in their personal lives that they do not think of those less fortunate than us. May you and yours have a healthy and joyous holiday.....MIKE

Mike, thank you very much for posting that reminder of what Christmas is really all about. Too many people get too caught up in the commercialization aspect of this time of the year. The gifts you just mentioned are far more important than what gets wrapped and put under the tree.

Have a blessed Christmas everyone and never forget the real reason for the season.
