| The RCMP Always gets his Van Well I got a call from the police yesterday, they recovered the van, minus a few items.
New bulletin reads. "On Lookout for persons scrolling with a car stereo, new battery, battery booster and laptop. They will be wearing a pair of seat covers and Santas rubber boots"
I go to the insurance adjuster today at 10:30.
The windows of the van were left open so there is lots of water damage and the rear door panels were torn off to try and remove the speakers.
They broke one speaker but the other is still there. They also took the brand new battery but had time to install an old one....I have no idea what that is about.
I will update once I know more.....there are much worse things going on out there A little thing like this wont spoil the holidays!

| Carl,
That isn't a very nice thing to happen any time but especially this time of year. That sucks. I do like your attitude, though, things could have been worse but aren't and you nor your family were hurt. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

| Ahh the laptop. That will be a major dissapointment for them.
It was an old 486, it was running DOS, no windows, I put a game emulator on it and 50 video games for a little friend who since got a new system. I just tossed it in the van and forgot about it.
Christmas will be awesome. Material things soon fade and loose their charm but family and friends always stay bright. OK Maybe not family all the time but frineds do <HAHA>

I could learn from your spirit. glad you aren't letting this get you down. like you said, stuff is just stuff. but then when it is me, ITS MY STUFF> theaf bewar.

| G'day Carl,
I think I'm glad you got your van back. I the insurance comes good it gets fixed up, fine.
I had a Falcon Station Wagon knocked off a few years ago, and although the insurance company was excellent and even replaced the engine, the car was never the same.
I was in the police force at the time, so had a chance to have an up close and personal chat to the poor unfortunate soul, who's upbringing and child hood trauma was to blame for his now disregard for other peoples property |
