Default What I learned today....

Every day after school, I'll ask the kids what they learned today....

Of course I get the typical smart ass answers... which I will not repeat here, but today I was beaten to the question....

So, here's my reply.

I learned that cat litter makes for good traction on the ice. (I tore the bag open on the way out of the car).
I learned that Sue (Chrestensen) doesn't want me to draw a pattern from her portrait.
I learned that dried kiwi exists at the "Bulk Barn", and I also learned it tastes God awful.
I learned the kids will choose jelly beans over dried fruit in a taste test ....

I also learned I need to ask the question "what did you learn today" faster than the kids do... or I need read more intellectual stuff before the bus arrives home! LOL.

What did you learn today?

Take care
Toni

What I have learned today.

if you listen to who is talking , you will here what they have to say. if not. then you only have ears for your own voice. What a loss.

Today I learned....

If the weather outside is cold and damp, my cat who wants to check the back yard for any scent marks left by the neighbor's cat, will express his opinion that the yucky weather is ALL MY FAULT!!! And my cat will wait another hour to see if I have corrected my faulty errors, demand again to be allowed to check for intruders, and should he find the weather has not improved will once again inform me I am a failure as an unpaid serf.

And after 4 tries, still I hadn't fixed the weather outside. My cat is now officially disappointed in my performance and this failure may be reflected in the next performance review.

Gosh, I don't think I learned anything today.
That isn't good.

What I learned today (this is really deep so feel free to pass on reading it)

I learned that the judicial system is seriously flawed. That a woman who prosecutes 5 guys in a gang rape will be required to show up at their parole hearings multiple times a year for the next 10 - 15 years or until they receive parole. I learned that this system sentences the victim to relive this horrific time of her life over and over again.
(I am in training to be a sexual assault victim's advocate, that is why I learned this stuff)

Well I learned not to brush the sawdust off of me with the just cut mini compound bunny in my hand, because I broke one of his ears. Thanks to the inventor of glue!

I learned that you should take it slow on ice skates, especially if you haven't used them in 10 years. OUCH!

I learn that if the weather is bad out side and you are the only one that showed up for work you should not tell anyone because your boss won;t believe you when you can't drive in the next time

I learned, you must live everyday as if it is your last. I lost a very good friend on Wednesday, and today I am still in shock. His death was so unexpected. Frankie was my leaning post, my sounding board and the best critic of my art, (he loved everything I did). He was the captain of my dart team, and the owner of the bar I frequent. His death has left a void in my life that is so painful, but life will go on, it just won't be the same without him.
So live each day to the fullest, because in the blink of an eye, it can be changed forever.
