Default Lost Friends

This is the time of year that people come home, and the ones that dont make it home are always missed.
I miss several people on the board, Lots more, but three come to mind right now.
Marcel
Sharon
Mooner
If anyone has any news or contact with our friends can they tell them Merry Christmas, and remind them how much we miss them.

Thanks

I'll second that, and also JT the Clockman.

I was thinking about Sharon yesterday, though, quite a bit. It's thanks to everybody on the board, but especially Sharon, that my kid is able to go to college instead of working two jobs. I make just enough from scrollsawing to keep us above water, and it was her tips on scrolling in a wheelchair, compromising between oxygen and sawdust, and other tips on scrolling for gimps that really made the difference for me. I can't thank her enough for all her emails and kind suggestions. I think of her every day when I sit down to my saw.

Was also thinking of Sharon. Missing also is
PuzzledMoose
I have called a couple of telephone numbers from the book without success. Wrote several letters and no reply. Something must have happened.

As for Marcel, he is well and busy with the lathe. We saw each other a couple of times in November. Will pass along the message.

Cool

Hi all,

Diane was true to her word, and sent me an email pointing to this thread.

I miss you guys too, but I am busy with the lathe
I have discovered a passion in turning (especially pens) and so far the response is very good.

I'm also looking for a job, as I am one of the 2900 from Nortel who's job has been transfered to India (-"Thank-you for your great work, but your application is being transfered to India for economic reasons. Good-bye and by the way you have to do Knowledge transfer to them before you leave." They did give me a fair package, but I would rather have kept my job!)

I somewhat miss this forum, but in the end I seemed to have rocked too many boats for my taste. There are particular people I miss exchanging with: Carl, Evie, Bob, Diane and many more, but I don't have time to lurk many forums at this time. And lately I'm not even active in the penturner's paradise forum (another forum which I really like).

Given my lack of participation, I'm even amazed that Bob let me keep my moderator privileges (goes to show he has faith I will come back more actively some day )

In the mean time...
I wish all my friends here a Merry Christmas and may 2008 bring you all you truly need ( and a few luxuries too!).

Happy Holidays,
Marcel

It amazes me, the number of on-line friendships that develop. And how much they are missed when we move along.
I have had the opportunity to meet several people, from different places, that I have met in various forums. It is like we have know each other for many years.
Merry Christmas!

seen i was missed, so decided to drop in with hat in hand and beg forgiveness for running off to the carving side of the fox chapel forums,

carving santas and cowboys is more to my skills, i only use my scrollsaw when i need to make a compound cutout for a new charter, anymore, so to call myself a scroller is a far piece to stretch the definition...

hope all is well at the home front for all, were about to burn up here with 60's and 70's near mid jan 08 weather... hope you got what you deserved for Christmas,
dont know what carl and little sister will do with all that coal and switches maybe keep warm...
best of the seasons to all
thomas
