Hello all! This is my 1st post and I wanted to register because I am looking to get back into wood work. Back in High School (about 15 yrs ago) I was in wood shop and did a great job making boxes, bird houses, signs and clocks. ~ Now I am a little rusty and forgot about the tools or how to properly use and maintain them. Right now all I own is a saw, jig saw, ruler and black marker I would like to know where I can find some recommended wood shops around here in Austin, TX (where I am located) to pay for a course/class to gain back my work shop skills. I am also looking to purchase some work shop tools, like Scoll Saw, Table Saw, Miter Saw and work shop table. So any recommendations on which to get would be cool to know. Thanks all |

Woodcraft stores have classes from time to time, plus I love walking through the store. It's like stepping into a magazine. http://www.woodcraft.com/stores/Defa...state&state=TX Rockler is another great store, but I didn't see any listed in Austin. At all the woodcraft stores I've been in, I see flyers for carving, turning, and scrolling clubs. These would be great places to start.
