| An old project. G'day all,
Was going through some old photos and came across these.
I did this up for a friend of my wife's, about 4 years ago.
It is an old "Cyclops" dolls pram made either during or just after the 2nd war. The ladies mother got it new for Christmas when she was just a little tacker.
This is the condition it was in when I got it.
And after I'd got my hands on it.

| An old project 2 These are some pics of it under restoration.
I stripped all of the old paint of, back to the bare metal, chucked all the old timber and rusted fittings.
You can see the different colours it had been.
Yep and I wore a mask ![015[1]](http://www.scrollsawer.com/forum/images/smilies/015[1].gif) |

| John-I love the pram-outstanding job. reading your post makes me smile a lot. My father went down under in the early 60's. Settled in the town of Tamworth in NSW. Married a lady from there , then came back to the states. She has a totally different vocabulary than we do. Something about the Queen's English. We would tease each other all time time. They ended up having 4 children and my youngest sister is now in Sydney. Any way great work--Richard aka thumbs ![036[1]](http://www.scrollsawer.com/forum/images/smilies/036[1].gif)

| Excellent restoration on that. Those fine old works just last and last.

| What a great project!! It certainly made me smile. Think of all the stories this old pram could tell. Thanks for including us in your successes.

Tamworth is a great part of the country, It's the Country Music Centre of Oz.
Language and Accents are a strange, and I find, fascinating subject.
When I was in the Police Force in the mid 80's we had an American Carrier group come into Fremantle for some R&R.
My job for a week was to hang out with the S.P.'s and make sure that they never cracked skulls too hard
Boy Oh Boy we gave them Bloke some Sh*&. mostly just B.S'ing about what some of our sayings meant and watching them come unstuck when they used them. ROFLMAO
Great Blokes and a great week.
I watch NASCAR on Fox, not so much for the racing but I love the Southern Sayings and humour.
Thanks for the complements regarding the job. |
