| Using a public computer All
I just thought I would relate something that happened to me. Last week I took my daughter's car in for some warrenty work at the dealership. It took about two hours and I waited for them to do the work.
They have a computer in the dealership that anyone can use, so I logged on to SSWCMB. Checked things out, made a couple of posts and just browsed around the forum. The service manager came out and said the work was done except for one item that hadn't come in. I closed out the internet (I didn't log out of the forum) on the computer and went home. They called yesterday to say if I could come in this morning they could do the work....I went in. Went right to the computer and typed in www.scrollsawer.com in the url address line and guess what........I was logged in......no password needed. Luckily no one used it to do any "harm" on the message board. So when I got done this time I LOGGED OUT, then deleted all the cookies, temp files and history (from the tools drop down on Internet Explorer). Maybe I'm stupid, but I never gave it a thought about being able to get back in without my password because the "remember me" box was checked. Just trying to keep anyone from having this happen to them......it sure could cause a lot of trouble if someone wanted to be "nasty".
I hope this makes sense.

| It certainly does make sense, and it is a good reminder to be careful with all sites with a login at any public computer. Glad you caught it before someone had the chance do do anything nasty, although I think most people on the forum are nice people anyway.

| I always log out when I'm done in here, and I'm just using a home computer. The remember me box is checked on here, and it remembers me, but it doesnt remember my password, i still have to type that in to relog in. Dale |

Dave | What I intended to imply, and I guess that since it was clear to me I didn't notice, was who besides someone from the forum would be likely to come here. Of course there are the ones who will play in history.

| I just did a little playing with some user names, Dale your's was one of them. I googled your user name and it took me to your profile and there was my user name at the top and I was logged in.
Maybe I need to logout from now on.

| Dave:
Thank-you for reminding the members about the extra care needed when using a public computer.
Not only for this site, but all kinds of sites that people will logon to when at a dealership or other waiting room.
