Default SIECLEY NO. 8 Wood Plane???

I am new to this, so i hope this is the right area to post this query...Can someone please tell me where I might find ANY information on a SIECLEY NO. 8 Wood Plane..The Patent date is 12-5-93...........It belonged to my Ggrandfather...I can find nothing on this brand anywhere on the web, Thanks for any help, Tom Shaw

Hi Tom, there is a site specializing in old tools.Sorry I cant think of it right off hand. If you go to http://community.woodmagazine.com/dgroups/ there is a forum specially for old tools. If you could post a picture that helps to jog a memory too, but just your description may get you some leads. Dale

BTW, is there any chance that the maker of your G'father's plane is spelled with a G instead of a C?

Found several hits on a Siegley No 5 planes. Even several up on Ebay.

Found one Siegley 8-C from 1900, looks to be a jointer's plane about 20 to 22 inches long. Metal body with wood knob; kind with out blade depth adjusment (bang on front to expose more blade, rear to less blade.)
