| liquid glass #2. Hay guys, well I just can't wait. to finish the project. I found the product I was looking for at michales. so hear is a practice picture of the project in prosses. the ornament is realy a shrunck copy of one of Richard Preators patterns. it is a shelf. and I will be putting the shelf peaces on the front and back of the ornament. one of the pictures shows how small it is. with all the peaces. the product is not dry. so i am waiting to see how it looks, be for makeing the others. also, I decided not to finish the wood, just to see if it will sand off ok, after it drys. also, I clamped the project down on a peace of wood coverd with plastic. sooo we'll see how it all goes.

| Evie,
It looks like your "liquid glass" approach might work well with the window tracery patterns. How many different colors of this product are available?
Thanks for the inspiration.

| Evie, you'll have to test the adhesion after the piece is dry to see how stable it is. Liquid glass, as you know, is usually used in making semi-permanent stained glass designs. The key is 'semi' permanent. It's designed to allow easy peeling off so the adhesion to the wood will not be as permanent as you might like. Cutting looks good, though. Good job. |
