Constuctive Criticism - Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts Message Board

Hi guys, As most of you know. I just don't have very much tack, when doing this. I have had some private messages. that I am too mushy, and lovey,dovey, and mommy, gramma, like here. I have to agree. but thats me. soooo, then I have heard, folks say, they , wont real, feed back, likes, or dislikes, and opionions. BUT, when I have done this, I guess, I am to brutal, sorry don't mean too.
maybe what folks mean is , give feed back on something like finishing, or wood or ???( But don't bash my talent), can anyone here, help me be more constructive , in my opionion, or criticism, where I wouldn't hurt feelings. I would realy hate it if I lost , Frienships. just becouse I didn't like something, here is your chance to bash me if you would like. see if I can handle it. I never conceited, in being good or at anytime know it all. I just wont to participate. sooo, what, is meant by, give me your opionion? this is where I learn many things, spelling,

,see. the one thing I would hate, is, that , I would turn folks away, with my, stupidness, not that I am that emportant, but mmm just tying to understand. I would love to see some old memmbers come back, and maybe, just maybe, they would if they felt. safe here.
to me, this is a family away from home, but to some, it is, just , a woodworking room, so teach me,

Don't let the B#$steds get you down. The problem with groups like this, people say things that they would never have the guts to say face to face.
Everybody is different, have different personalities and opinions, that's what makes the world so interesting.
Don't let these mugs trigger something that will impact on you-ignore them and concentrate on the 90% of good people.
You are truthful, and I haven't seen one of your posts that would (should) upset anyone.
YOU ARE NOT STUPID.
If you lose a "Friend" because of some criticism, then they were not a friend in the first place.

I for one, love your messages and look forward to them. you have so much to share.

Stupid and Stupidness (?) don't exist in my vocabulary. Maybe their jealous of all your talent and knowledge. I feel if they don't want an honest opinion, then DON'T ASK or post a picture. I love you just the way you are and wouldn't change a thing!! If they keep "harrassing" you in private emails, I would report them to BobD & let him take care of it.

So for all of you out there harrassing Evie, knock it off. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. Or in this case, DON'T POST PICTURES & ASK FOR OPINIONS. YOUR WORK MAY NOT BE AS GOOD AS YOU THINK IT IS.

That's just my opinion, though.

Ok , but I would still like some feed back on good Constructive , Criticism. even my kids say I am vishius. speeling??? as far as the pms. they know who they are. and I don't have to point them out. but. they did start me thinking. sooooo if I ever hurt anyones feelings, please forgive me. and for the ones who think or know. I am too mushy. I will try to be more professional, drats there goes my fun.but realy. thank you Betty, John, Bob, and Steve. that meens alot to me. If somebody is asking for feedback and criticism then he/she should be able to take it whether it is positive or negative. You're just being honest with your opinions, and you should be. Don't go changing a thing. Betty said it best, if they don't like the criticism they are getting then they shouldn't be asking for any at all.

Once again Evie you have spoken very eloquently .

We often type words on the net without feeling.
If we are in a room together we can see each others faces and hear each others tone. The words can be the same but have completely different meanings if we don't have the physical presence.

My great grand mother was a lady who truly believed that if you cant say something good about someone say nothing at all. Funny but she always had lots to say.

Everyone who ever scrolled started at the same point. I still remember the first time I put wood to blade. I have improved some since then. I still have a long way to go. I look at the work you do and others here on the forum and often wish I had what it takes to produce work like that. It isn't that I don't have the skills, I don't always apply them.

There is a fine line between a critique and a criticism. I hope we all critique each others work and offer our own point of view on work that we produce. If someone asks for advice I hope we offer advice in a positive manner.

I know there are times that I want praise and not criticism, these are the times when I have to chose my words carefully when I post a project.
Is that bold and conceited? I don't think so I think we all need a pat on the back every now and again.

Evie, you just keep scrolling the way you always do and I will keep trying to get as good as you are.

Evie I have to agree with what all the others have written you are a unique person and your talents are many, you do scrollings I can not nor will probably never attempt, all of us here in this forum have strong talents in each of our gifts, does that make us better then someone else? hardly its just where are gifts are best used is all, and I believe your a very gifted person
