I'm still here in MN taking care of Mom. She's doing ok but had a real set back today. Don't know when they are moving her to rehab. All I can say about Minnesota is ....The people here are WONDERFUL! I have never met such friendly, helpful people in all my life. The hospital is fantastic. I compare this to Johns Hopkins. St. Joseph's is at the top of my list. The entire staff is wonderful. I can't say enough about the hospital & people I have met. People walking on the street are so friendly & helpful, especially when I got lost in my daily walks! I can't say enough good things about this city. Those of you who live in MN can be proud to be from here. Course it was a little strange seeing the second language as "Dutch"? instead of Spanish! LOL Will be returning home tomorrow night. Have lots of sawing to catch up on, a 2 day show next week-end & will be returning here after the 10th. Hopefully, we will be able to take Mom back home by then. Thank all of you for your prayers - they really do help. Betty

Well, I'm home but we aren't sure when Mom will be coming back. She's up there by herself & very confused. My brother will be going up on Fri & returning Tues & I'll be going back up Thurs or Fri. Hopefully, by then they will know when she can come home. But first, we need to find an assisted place for mom to go to. My nerves are pretty shot right now. I plan on getting the paperwork to my brother tomorrow for the assisted living place & then spending time in my shop. Betty

Betty: With all that is going on in your life, you don't need an extra burden but I thought I would add a note from my past. When my Ex's mother went into an assistant living care, the place was very reasonable for monthly housing cost. Problem was the owner's made HUGE PROFITS from administrating medication. And I do mean PROFIT$. All medications, including over the counter drugs, were required to administered by a staff nurse. And purchased through the in-house pharmacy. My Ex's mother once ran up over $3000.00 in monthly charges for medication and administration that wasn't covered by insurance. Be sure where ever you find a place for you mother you find out before hand the policy, charges, and insurance coverage for medication your Mom may need. There be large profits in medication these days. Best of luck to you and your family. Phil |

Thanks Phil for the info. I did check out a place today and I was told they could order her medication or I could continue to get it through her insurance & bring it up to them to administer. The monthly fee includes everything. My mother is making such tremendous progress, with a little help at home she may be able to stay in her apartment she has with my aunt. Right now I'm looking into extra medical expenses available to her thorough Veterans as one of her monthly alotments is from my father & there's about $987 available for her. I have just started to wade into the paperwork today. If you don't hear from me for a while, I'm buried under all the paperwork!! Betty
