Default First Attemt With Turned Tree Ornament

This was my first attempt at making a tree ornament on my wood lathe (well actually second one but the first one blew up so I didn't count it . . lol) .
I learned quite a bit with this first one so ones to follow will be easier and hopefully look better than this one.
I think these will go well at pre Christmas craft sales.

Thanks Evie . . . .

Mike;
It is fully described as a video in the Turning Tutorials board in my Woodworking Friends site.
From my home page select Woodworking Tutorials.
From the three tutorial boards that come up select the Wood Turning Tutorials one.
Up near the top of the list is a link that will show how to do it . The name of the video is
***Tree Ornament, Wine Glass and Hollow egg Videos.***
It is a nice video. There is no talking in it but has nice Christmas Carols playing in the background. Narration is not required because the video is self explanatory.
I watched the video a couple times and then went out in my shop and tried that first attempt of the ornament from that group of videos.

I like a challenge and wood turning forever gives me a challenge to try something differet. That one is both challenging and fun to make the first time and the only tool required is a spindle gouge. Next ones will be more fun and less of a challenge Now to try it in a bunch of different colored woods. . . . . . .

Yes Mike, I have noticed some messages from you there. Check again and that pro turner 'bobham' from Forest, Ontario has posted pictures and description in the discussion board of a much easier way of turning those ornaments than what that video shows. He is going to submit a tutorial for his method of doing it and I will definitly be trying it his way . Should be able to make a bunch of them for pre-Christmas craft sales.
