Default Selling your work.

I have been scrolling for about 3 years now. Most of what I made the first 2 years I gave for gifts, but did sell some items. Now I love it so much that I can't quit but I am out of people to give my items to. So I was wondering how any of you guys sell your items out there. I know that some of you have web sites, but I have no clue of have to start a web page plus the money to do it with. You also have to know that I live in a fairly small area with only 8,000 people in town and I don't think that there is anyone within a hour drive either way that does scroll sawing. To prove this, I put a piece I made in a district fair this past week and they said I didn't win overall ribbon because they said a part of it was store bought. The piece was the santa clock that Dirk Boelman designed and the part that they thought was bought was the santa and reindeer on the roof.So this is where I am at in scrolling. Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to sell my items. What are your oppions on doing craft shows? Sorry this was so long. Thanks for your help. Donnab

This thread has a lot of info on doing craft shows. Other outlets are gift shops, if you have and Hallmark stores, these are usually locally owned as well and welcome well done stuff.

This sounds like a very advanced recommendation, considering you have never made a web page before, but I would suggest you looking into 'Search Engine Optimization' for begging sites. This will basically give you free advertisement thanks to the wonderful world of the internet, and the lovely search engines that move the traffic through it. While in development, you basically need to come up with about 15 different keywords that you want to rank well for and "optimize" your site for these keywords. It sounds simple, but it takes some work, but you must realize, this hard word is going towards your FREE marketing/ad campaign for your wood work.

Good Luck
