| Just keeping in touch I haven't posted in a few weeks because I've been busy resolving a small catastrophe. My washing machine flooded the laundry room and ruined the laminate floor in the hallway, so I moved the laundry room in the basement and remodeld the old laundry room into a closet for my sons' room. Still a work in progress.

| So why's that stopped you scrolling or visiting us? You need to come up with a better excuse than that!
Hope you get things fixed up soon.

| Distractions, distractions there are always a distraction from the things that we enjoy doing.

| I feel your pain!!! We had a similar experience on oak floors in the kitchen and hallway. We had to wait 8 months for it to dry enough to replace some of the boards and refinish the entire floor. We were lucky that we caught it quickly or we probably would have had to replace the entire floor. It was still a lot of work!!! Hope you are nearing the end of your ordeal!!

| Was it the hose that broke? There is an alarm system/valve that can be purchased for washing machines that are in an upstairs environment. I think it's just a valve with a wire that goes to the floor to detect water..if water becomes present then the valve turns itself off automatically so that no more water can come out.
Of course, if you read the instructions on any washer, it tells you to turn off water to machine every time you are finished using it. But who does that??? That's why someone invented the safety valve I bet. My washer is on the first floor too, and I don't turn off water or have the safety valve. I really should do that. Be good to have one on the fridge and the dishwasher too. I had the pipe leak behind the fridge a few years back and ruined my hardwood floor in the kitchen. I switched out the floor though to congolium, so now it is less of a concern, but a concern still non the less. I don't know why we don't prioritize these things more in our lives, but we don't, me included.

| Or possibly someone, no names mentioned here but he goes by the name of husband, left something in the drain tub that clogged up the sink, and you didn't hear any splasing on the floor until the tub almost drained out. & there was brand new paneling laying on the floor! & the culprit was at work! & there was a baby in the crib crying! That was many years ago but I still remember it like yesterday.
