| What a beast crossing my yard!!! I was looking out the window admiring my lawn mow job when I saw this beast ambling across the grass....... HPIM1478 (688 x 512).jpg
After the quick snap on digital zoom, I ran out and got a closer look. HPIM1481 (600 x 448).jpg
I remember when Grandpa used to come visit he'd always bring turtle meat. This one is safe for now, but when I become a resident............... |

| Now change the background and turn it into a pattern...
Nice looking thing. Might you have a pond nearby it might have been in search of?

| Mmm, turtle...
Turtle soup with a dash of sherry, that's the ticket. Though I have to admit that butchering one would probably gross me out the door!

| You heard about the turtle and the snail that crashed at the intersection?
The police asked the turtle what happened? The turtle's reply, " I just can't remember it all happened so fast".

| And of course what the snail said - the one sitting on the turtle's back:
"Wheeeeeeee!"
(Still cracks me up!)

And yes Tor, we have a 40 acre "pond" or "slough" our land borders on. I'm guessing he came out of that. |

| Im so fouwd of turtales. now thats a big one. living in the high desert, we used to have lots. but now they are on the danger list. I see them some times when I cross the desert, but they are few and far betwean. I seen a semi. hit one one day. so I picked her up. put her in the back of my truck and went on to work. a guy going buy on his bike, seen her, and turned me in, the cops came to my work , with a warnt, to arest me. this was not good. for all the neibors seen it. out I went in hand cufs. ouch. in front of all to see. they picked up the turtale, out of the back of my truck. and low and behold she peed. I told the cops, I was afraid of that, for i seen the truck hit her, and was afraid if she peed . she couldn't get her water back. and would die. they said , well she peed now, so what happened when she got hit buy the truck?? I said I don't know. I didn't see her pee. I only know. if she got hit, she might of peed. and would die. so I picked her up. just in case. soo they said, what now. I said I don't know now. she peed so some one has to take cair of her. sooo they let me go. only if I agreed to take her to a turtale rescue. to recove her water. and to never pick up another turtle again with out a linceans. pee or no pee. ![004[1]](http://www.scrollsawer.com/forum/images/smilies/004[1].gif) True story. | Can you explain why it is dangerous for the turtle to pee? I never have heard of that.
