Default Amapi software question

Just curious if anyone here is even mildly affluent with amapi 3d software? I am downloading it and need to figure out how to use it so that I can build a 3d model and plan for an intarsia picture frame. It's going to be insanely off the wall, literally and figuratively. And...if so, I'd like to get together in a private discussion please.

We use Strata here at the office...for exploded drawings, etc. There is quite a learning curve for it, though...

Do you have a vector-based graphics software, Jeff? For most 3D modeling software you need to convert to vector to use it...

I'm not sure, but I did join a forum for amapi users. I started out with a 3d-boat building program, but it's a freeby program that's difficult to get any support on, so now I'm trying the amapi which is also free but does have a forum for support. I have the suspicion that vectors are going to be a factor, but don't know really what a vector is supposed to be, or more that I don't know how I'm supposed to know what the vectors are, let alone if I need a seperate program for that. What I do know is what I want my end result to be, and I'm a very stubborn person, where there is a will there is a way, words to live by. Since I just build what I want and when I want, time is not important, so I can afford to learn more than 1 new thing at a time as I go. My first download attempt somehow went amiss, as it says the file is corrupt and I notice the file size is only 36 MB, but the program said it was 92 MB. I'm going to try again...it's a 12hr download on dial-up, so anything can happen during that amount of time.

Jeff, I haven't used any of those programs, but you might find a download manager to quickly become something you will wonder how you ever got along without. I believe one is called getright, but it has been so long since I have needed one I may be wrong.
