| Something a Little Different from WyvernWench's Design Like many here, we work at other things outside of scrolling. Here is a slightly different take on one of the designs by Lora Irish.
I've graduated from recycling empty beer bottles, LOL, and began working on some multi stage cutting in glass.
This vase shows the Celtic Hearts cut in three different layers in a glass vase... this is my first attempt at the multi stage cutting, but it still found a home in a gift shop.
I know it has nothing to do with scrolling/or woodwork.... but some of you Celtic lovers might like it.
Take care

| I assume that was done with a glass beader or sand blast. If so what did you use as a mask?
Very nice

| Thanks Thanks for the kind words on the Celtic Hearts.
As for how long it too - LOL, well lets see..... about 45 yrs. Seriously, I learned along time ago not to time these little things I enjoy doing. I will never make a living from these interests, and they are only created for the love of creating them.
Yes Rolf, it is sandblasted. The mask is a photoresist .... a whole different science learning to develope that stuff successfully.
Now if I could get the photography of glassware done so there was no glare. ARG! I have also worked with stone and marble, but I think mirror is the most fun.
Thanks for the comments... this practice can get very frustrating since there is so much room for error..... nice to have something turn out.
Take care

| Photo resist? I do a great deal of lithography work in the semiconductor processing and use a lot of liquid photo resist. I am surprised that it is tough enough for the blasting process.
My nephews wife’s family is in the memorial stone business and they use an adhesive membrane that is cut in a computer controlled plotter. I wonder how it would conform to a curved surface.
There is a lot of complexity in what you did, makes the end result even more impressive.
