Default What have I gotten myself into......

Well, remember the BNI group I joined and the order I got for 10 boxes & 10 pens for a bridal party? Seems the amount has been changed - 46!!! She's saying this and I"m thinking, sure no problem, THEN she wants 6 of the in the color of the brides maids dresses - yellow, green, blue, lavender, orange & pink, I'm thinking, Ok not too bad, Toni, I'll be in touch with you about the dyes, oh and by the way - she wants them in the shape of - ready for this - the islands of St. Lucia & Trinidad!!! Joined together into one box! Can you do that? And I say "Sure, not a problem" but thinking "Are you crazy for saying you can do this?" Actually, they're making some sort of pattern for the wedding invitations and I'm to work from that.

AND THEN, another girl wants 6 small elephants, with trunks up, by August 24 for a sorority reunion!! WHAT HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO?!?!?!? Does anyone know where I can look for an elephant pattern? With trunk up!

Betty

Yup! Patrick & Patricia Spielman's "Scroll Saw Puzzle Patterns" There are 3 different size elephant patterns in this book. Two have the trunks up, the baby has the trunk dragging. Although they are puzzles, you can cut them out solid. I cut all 3 for my daughter and when I painted them I did an effect similar to marbleing, they actually turned out pretty good. Sorry, I don't have a pic.

It's not pressure, it's a challenge! Course hubby uses his favorite expression "Are you nuts?" The boxes aren't due until 1/24, so I have marked all of January off to do nothing but them. By then we will have decided on everything and most of the prep work on the wood should be done and at $20 a box and $25 a pen, I think I can handle it.
