Default Expensive around here

Is it me or is it hot everywhere?! The temperature here at my house is reading off the thermometer these days and it is too hot to be out in my shop. My car broke down the other day while hubby was on his way home from work and turns out it needed a new fuel pump, ouch in the wallet! Then, because the car is starting to get up there in miles we decided to buy a Jeep, yeehaw! So hubby is flying to meet the guy and pick it up tomorrow in Vancouver. On Tuesday we are gonna take it for a ride and put it thru the test of a true Jeep! With all this spending going on I could have bought myself at least one more saw, but xmas is coming and then it will be time for me to spend for my toys! hehehe. I'll post a picture of the new Jeep when I finally get to see it. I'm excited.

Wow, is that the type of thread people talked about a while back? You started with the excessive heat, went to car troubles, to offroading with the new jeep, to the heart of winter, and Christmas. What you failed to say was in December you will be wishing it was this warm!!! Maybe someone will make you a pattern of the new jeep!! Dale

Sherri.
I hope it is not as hot in Williams lake as it is down here in the Central Kootenays. It has been over 100 F for three days in a row here and I am sticking in the house with the air conditioner going full blast.
Missed the Sat and Sun craft sales this week due to the heat. Way too hot to work in my shop.
Tonights news mentioned hundreds of forest fires started all over the province but luckily non are near residential areas (yet).

This is where I am glad my shop is in the basement. It is always around 68 deg f.
But while we are on expensive weekends, I bought myself a new Nikon SLR with 2 lenses a case etc. Now I won't have any excuses for poor pictures other than operator error.
Good luck with your Jeep I can't bring myself to take mine into the woods or mud.

Just noticed my post count is getting close to 1000 I will have to come up with something profound for that post.

There is a saying in the US and maybe around the world that goes like; " The only difference between men and boys are the price of the toys." Maybe in the "new" world we might want to let the women in. After all jeeps, power tools, etc. What do you say guys?

I've got a Jeep, power tools, boat, house, workshop and two ex-wives. No alimony payments or girlfriend and more money in my pocket.
I like it this way!

I had a truck, boat, power tools, camping gear, guns of my own before I got married the second time. My husband has all that too, more toys than we know what to do with, two of everything, even boats. In our house it's definitely the guys AND the gals.

Toys are expensive. That is why being rich is a good idea, if you can be. What's the point of seeing the world if you're too saddlesore to enjoy it?

Rolf, which body did you get? I still have my D70 I got the summer they came out, along with an 18-70mm and a 28-200mm to go with it. Have at times thought about a longer lens, but that is for sometime when I have more free working capital.

Tor
I bought the D40X with the 18-55mm and 55-200mm lenses.
I bought it at Costco as a package deal with case 1gig memory card, 2 DVD's that are great tutorials on digital photography and one that was camera specific.
All I need now is some time to take pictures. I finally got fed up with my older Nikon coolpic 995 that has such a bad shutter delay that I kept missing pictures.
