Default Way off topic.

I found an old electric sewing machine. I know it predates any safety standards since 1975(at least). I can`t seem to find anyplace on the net (Or the machine itself) that can tell me what it is exactly that I found. Seems like a nice machine, tons of dials and buttons, runs very nice as far as I can tell. All the moving parts seems to be in very good condition. But, afraid I barely understand what a thread and needle should do so...

Its says its a Deluxe Imperial Z105093.

Any fellow dumster divers out there?

Take it by your local sewing machine shop or a fabric store that sells sewing machines and see what they have to say. The fabric shops usually have classes where you can learn how touse the thing.

They are very handy to have for little chores around the house. I bought a sewing machine many years ago when serving as a Scoutmaster. There was always a tent, pot bags or other piece of equipment in need of repair and money was short enough that we could not just go out and buy new stuff all of the time.

you could try this link to find out how to thread the machine http://www.sewusa.com/Sewing_Machine...g_Diagrams.htm
There is also a sewing machine collectors site http://www.ismacs.net/home.html. Good luck.

I knew this group would have some answers lol. Thanks for all of your help so far.

Here`s some pics.

I`ve already had offers to sell it. Now I`m even MORE curious as to what I got (I found it in the garbage). I am getting my Mother to give me a quick lesson on it in a couple weeks, lol.

Thanks again,
Gary.

It sort of looks like an old Necci I had for 25 years! that thing lasted and lasted! Just didn't do enough stitches for me.

GOOD LUCK!!

I found an address for an Imperial Sewing Machine Co. It is 584 S 21st St
Irvington, NJ 07111 Phone: (973) 374-3405. Don't know if this will help but maybe.
