For "easy" - I went to someone and had them make me a graphics set - background, banner, etc. Then I went to another person who hosts websites and had her put it together for me. I did pay both of them, plus a hosting fee. It's up to me to keep the website up to date (which it isn't....)
www.wood-n-goods.com if you want to check it out. If you are interested in anything like this I can get you the contact information for both the graphics and the site.

I'm not sure how fancy you want this web site to be, but using a tool like Blogger (www.blogger.com/start) you can put up a very simple web site with some text and pictures. It's fairly easy to use. Don't know if this will help, but it's an idea.

For making up a website the friendliest that I found around is Netscape Composer. I have used it and is is nice and easy.

Thanks for your help everyone. I thought I could use another challenge and do this myself. I'll start with yours first, Diane and let you know how it works.

I've made quite a few websites with Composer and I love it.
Good luck with the composition of your site. The hardest part is knowing what you want and where you want it. Searching for special images is time consuming also.

I use Serif PagePlus for almost all my design work. I have used it for patterns and for my webpage.
It has some good tutorials.
They also have Webplus available for free here http://freeserifsoftware.com/softwar...us/default.asp
I have been happy with the products and customer service.

It depends how deep into web stuff you want to go. I use an opensource program called PortableNVU, but I like to get involved in the coding and "tweak" things

If you want a wysiwyg (What You See Is What You Get) editor, I've used a couple; FrontPage and DreamWeaver, FrontPage is probably easier to use than DreamWeaver.

There are also a few websites where free templates can be downloaded for your use, this is a good idea for beginners as it lets you view the code and see what's going on.

Here's a link you might find useful, and if you don't see a template you like, you can make a request and they will try to come up with one......free!

First of all, Stu, since you're rather new to this board, let me tell you a little about me. I'm the one who it took months to figure out how to post a picture in here. Tweaking? on the computer? Sure, right. Those of you that know me are probably rolling with laughter right now at the thought of me tweaking on the computer. I need simple and easy. And since I haven't welcomed you before, welcome to this board. We are a friendly group and really try to help each other out. Even those of us who are "computer challenged."
