| Our State Bird (not mosquito) I'm sure most of you have seen photos of the common loon, our state bird in Minnesota. While out fishing yesterday I ran across this one. I believe he was showing off for a female not too far away. Some of you may find this 15 second video quite entertaining. It will probably remind some of you guys of your courting days. While watching the video, be sure to have your speakers turned up. They make a sound you can never forget. http://s115.photobucket.com/albums/n...t=P1000460.flv |

| Hey you forgot to mention it's Canada's national bird too ..
That's a cool video there, Mike, thanks for posting. The first time I ever heard one of those was by a lake in the Rockies just around dusk. I wondered what the hell that sound was - it's pretty eerie when everything else is quiet!

| Yep, definitely had to be a female close by. We have loons on the lake and I get woken up sometimes with their cry.

Here is a Jeff Zaffino pattern I cut last year. Just click on it to make it larger.

| I did the same one last December. However, due to copyrights, it is illegal to sell this one without permission from the artist. Just a word of caution. |

| Mike that is a fine piece of work there, I never knew JZ (or his source) did a loon pattern.
There is never enough "Northern" patterns made but you hit a mark with me with your cutting, excellent work.
