Default Good to be back

It's a few weeks since I've been able to look at the board and so it's good to get back to it today. The reason I haven't been on is that my mum finally "faded away" two weeks ago today after a long time of going downhill. My family and I (including 8 of my 9 siblings, with the last one arriving from Australia a day after she died) had the priviledge to sit with her during her last few days and though difficult at the time, are now precious memories. Those who have been through this will know what I mean. Scrollsawing has really had to take a back seat for a while but I'm now thinking of getting back into gear by making a memory piece for each of my siblings. I think I'd like to include both my mum and my late dad's names on/within it (Leo & Elvie) so will have to work on it. Any ideas?

Welcome back Teresa.
These times are precious.
We all cherish the memories of loved ones, they continue to inspire us every day.
Whatever you make for your siblings will bring those positive thoughts to them.

I do not know what you think of this idea but I think a sailboat on a horizon would be nice.

I have heard the tale many times.
As we lose someone close to us in life we see them as we do a ship sailing off into the horizon. Each moment that boat slips further away and the vision gets smaller and smaller. Eventually it is a speck
On the other side someone is looking to the horizon and they see a tiny speck in the distance. As our sailboat fades away from view it grows larger and larger to them. There on the other shore is a family waiting to greet them.

I didn't write it as eloquently as I had heard it but the gist is the same.

I will scratch my empty head for more ideas.

Once again Welcome back

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, Teresa . My thoughts are with you and your family.

Perhaps if you think about the fun times you shared with your parents, you'll get inspiration for your commemorative piece.

My condolences Teresa.
If you are religious there are many delicate classy crosses that could be incorporated into a cutting.
