Default Lowes manager Reply

Hi Everyone, I was inquiring about some BB plywood at the closest Lowes store online. Now mind you I did not call or have their #. This is the reply I get a few moments ago. Mr. Westfall,
Regarding your inquiry about Baltic Birch plywood, we must special order
it. Do you want it in sheets? Please contact my assistant manager Brian
Glotfelty as I am off Wednesday.
regards,
Andy Huntley

Default Duh!

No sheet, Stevie? I never would have guessed it. I've had similar things happen but can't remember exactly what they were, just that I walked away shaking my head and muttering "I don't believe what I just heard".

I gave up a long time ago asking anyone for help that is associated with employement there. I like the store but the responses I have got from employees is way too much. LOL

a while back I discovered orange spots popping up on the ply I bought. They had no Ideal and told me that they dropped Georgia pacific wood and imported it from china now and perhaps I could contact their supplier over there. Now Come on LOL
I humored him and asked if I could get the number and name and he said he couldn't give it out that it was confidential information. I laughed all the way out of the store

I think some of these stores must recruit from the same place as Staples and PC World (UK one at least) - you know what they say "You pay peanuts and you get monkeys ..."

Well I will stick up for the guy at Lowes.....
Maybe he was meaning Full sheets or partial sheets.
Full sheets at Windsor Plywood are 5x5 and I can get almost and fractional size of the same sheet priced by the square foot.

I take it you must have a Windsor ply near you Carl? Their shipping costs are idiotic! They quoted me something like $175 shipping for 10 sheets of 5x5!!!!

Carl, I could draw that conclusion also. But do you have any idea how to get in touch with his assistant. He did not leave any contact info other than his own email address. He left the guys name but I contacted the corporate office ssite and they said that they would forward the info to the closest store to me. I guess from my postal code. I thought it funny the way he left out a lot of pertinent info and his wording. I am not attacking Lowes. Please I do not want anyone to think that. It was just funny. Steve

Ian the Windsor store is about 5 minutes away.

Steve it is funny and I do know the frustration of dealing with bureaucracies, I am doing the same thing with my ISP which is blocking port80 on my PC, not a big deal but it is an annoyance when they feel they know what I want without consulting first......something like your Lowes situation

Default Talking about people

My wife and I worked at the University of Notre Dame for football in a concession stand a couple of years ago. And we had to keep all the meat that we fixed in a big barrel full of ice, and the local health department always came around and checked us out. This one day she told me that the ice wasn't cold enough!!!
