| That is really delicate fretwork. Do you think she frets over it?

| Hey Jerry, that's really cool. The ones that I've seen have been cut with air drills, high end dremels with real fine bits. This person used ostrich eggs, seems like I remember that she soaked them in something to make them not so brittle but still looks like tedious work. Hers look sort of like lace or something.

| It is very typical to do this type of cutting with an abrasive wand. http://www.airbrasive.net/products.html
I have a system at work I used to use for cutting holes in silicon wafers.
the nozzle I used was about .5 mm (.02")
The SSwhite company used to have artists at the trade shows demonstrate their tools by doing decorative stuff in Egg shells.
I also found this link so I guess they do use a rotary tool. http://www.elegantintrigues.com/ei.html

| Fascinating stuff - thanks Jerry for posting the original and to Dale and Rolf for adding info. Looks like you certainly need a steady hand to do those!
