Default Looking for Supplier of .....

The little key chain thingies that I would screw in to a letter for example. I want to add some low priced initial keychains and such to my offerings. For those of you that have done this type of stuff before, what thickness wood did you use? I'm guessing tight grained woods such as mahogany or maple will be better than oak.

Thanks in advance.

Kevin, couldn't you use eye hooks that are found at any hardware store? Also, you could check Jewelry Supply or >$1 and of course, there's always ebay.

Hi Ian, what I have is a web sight to Crafter's Mart www.crafters-mart.com . What I am thinking that Kevin is referring to is the brass shoulder hooks. Kevin correct me if I am wrong here. They offer them in three sizes and by the 25, 100, 500, and 1000. My catalog is an 03. The shipping in the US is like $6.00 no matter what size the order. There may be other suppliers cheaper but this is all I have to offer at this time. Worth looking at. Steve

I think he is looking for screw eyes and the split rings for keys. The screw eyes I picked up at wally world and the split rings I got at Michaels. The threaded length should be about 5/16" at least. I have made several names about 1/2 high and 3/8 thick with oak. The pattern was in the magazine but right now I don't remember what issue.

Kevin, I think they were in the leather section. If you go to Michaels.com and search the site you should find them, several different sizes. The screw eyes I got from wally world were 1/2" size which represents total length.
