Default Three cheers for delta!!!

Over the weekend i purchased a delta ss350 from lowes. it was a clearanced display model that was SUPPOSED to come with a stand, but i figured i could live without the stand and make something up myself. well, when i get it home i discover that it's also missing a few very important pieces for the upper blade clamp. i call back to the store and talked to the store manager and explain to him what i found with the saw, and that if i had to order the few little missing parts myself the saw isn't such a bargain considering total cost paid, and thats without adding what it would cost to replace just the stand (about 150 DOLLARS....OUCH). the manager tells me that their not going to do anything the saw was sold as is as it was PERIOD. he did suggest that i call the manufacterer and that they might send me the parts at no charge. so i call the manufacturer monday and explain the situation with the saw outlining everything i just wrote, the lady on the phone says that she will send me the parts for free, and i had just asked for the blade clamp parts. so i said to her well i gotta ask, cause if i don't ask i'll always wonder, would it be possible to get the stand as well? she looked up the parts in her computer and said that she could send me the stand as well. HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!! man she made me day when she told me that. if i would have had to purchase the clamp parts it would have cost me about $20 with shipping, and i could have lived with that (grudgingly). i figured up the cost on all the parts that they were going to send me for free and it was $158.51 without shipping. well that's my story i just wanted to give kudos to a manufacterer. it's not too often you hear a good story about one, usually it's some nightmare. my 2 cents.

Thanks for sharing that, You are right it is not too often we hear the good these days, People do seem to need to vent when things go wrong, so I can understand that, but when things go right everyone is happy.
