Hubby works all summer as it is the high season for him so we always stay home. But then again, I live in the country where the lake is my back yard and the forest is right across the road. This is where the city people come for a nice vacation so it's not so bad staying home.

... out in the sun growing veggies and flowers, as well as still scrolling .. and hopefully trying out a few local craft fairs and markets ..

Oh and a trip back home to England in September for my Mum's 80th birthday if that still counts as summer ...

I will spend my summer on the boat or at the beach. Rainy days in the workshop preparing product for the only two shows I will be doing this year.
They are not until the end of the year.
The Long Island Woodworking club will have its annual show in October this year. We tie in a mini scrollsaw picnic with that (Oct 6-7) If you are in the area pay us a visit. In the mean time check out our web site.

PLAYING WITH MY BRAND NEW GRANDSON!!! And some shows, er, lots of shows. I got myself booked into more than I wanted but oh well what the heck. People just keep asking me to participate and I can't say no. One show sent the application and said they are taking pictures of crafters & their crafts for the local newspaper to advertise the show. Now how in the world could I turn down FREE advertising. Another person connected with an Art League came to my last show as a customer, told me who she was and said I was juried into their big show in September. And if I wanted, I could bring my saw to demonstrate as they don't have a scroller and have someone else sell my stuff (hubby comes to mind). Now how could I turn that down? But GRANDSON comes first!!

The second week of May, I'll be heading to the northern part of Minnesota. I'll be taking along portraits of loons, an eagle, a bear, a wolf, a walleye, and a bass. I'll also be bringing a few forest leaf cut outs of fish and wildlife, a few electrical outlet covers and a bunch of Gone Fishin' plaques. I hope to find a couple good gift shops interested in buying my products. If I can find just two, I'll be happy. I don't plan on doing any consignments. I'll also stop at a few resorts with gift shops and try and get rid of the Gone Fishin' plaques. I believe they'll be the best seller. I'll probably spend 3 days on the road and drive close to 1000 miles. Minnesota is a tall state and I live in the southern part. This is also a good excuse to head to the nice part of the state for a few days. Unlike Dragon, I don't have a lake in my backyard and a forest across the road. I live in a small asphalt jungle. I miss the north country since I sold my fishing tackle business. Hopefully, I'll pick up a couple new customers for my credit card business, which would eventually pay for the trip. If I don't sell anything, I'll maybe have a couple scroll saws for sale.

Other than that, I hope to spend a lot of time on my fishing boat, hauling in big'uns.

I will be spending as much time at the lake as my girls will allow. I think that they like it too though. Anybody else up for a trip to Stonewall Jackson Lake in central WV for some crappie fishing? Steve

Well, Sandy, when a two week stay turns into 9 months you kind of get excited when you can see the day when you get your house (motorhome, bathrooms workshop, etc) back. Moving out next weekend.
