Talking First show done

Wow ! What a ride this was ! I absolutely had a blast !
I only cleared about $100 ( light crowd ) but I took 4 custom portrait orders ....2 people gave me their pics on the spot, and I have a page and a half of new contacts, including home town neighbors, fellow artisans and potential customers . I met and spoke with a lady who has a consignment gift shop in our town who is very interested in making an arrangement ....including some pieces dealing with our local history, EMS. fire dept etc. Accepted tons of compliments from folks who were just simply amazed at some of the work ....I am humbled beyond words
I finally met someone from our family ....NC Scroller ( Scott ) drove all the way from a neighboring town to chat and give his support. Wonderful fellow and I thoroughly enjoyed " talking shop " with him and look forward to spending some more time together in the future.
All in all just a wonderful time and again I thank all of you for your encouragement and support . You guys rock ! This will definitely not be my last show and I got some good recommendations on future shows from some of the veteran vendors. Oh yeah, I've also been invited and encouraged to join the NC State Arts Council by it's president who was attending the show ....what a ride !

That sounds like you had a great day and made a lot of useful contacts, Robert. Congratulations - I'm really pleased for you.

Your work certainly looks very nice there "en masse" - very nice variety.

Aside from the commision you took, do you mind if I ask what did sell? Actually that question was from Sue who's just been looking over my shoulder admiring your work ..lol

Cool T-shirt and suspenders you have there BTW ...

Just think how much you would have sold while wearing a 3 piece suit. In my books, your first showing was a huge success. People have now seen what you are capable of. Word will spread like wildfire now. I was pretty sure that orders would out perform actual sales. Most people around here come to shows just to look. They have no intention of spending money. But, some come for ideas and that was your market. They've seen what you can do and now they are formulating their own ideas. You had a good assortment for them to see. Once they are more than pleased with their special order, they will show it off to others and the phone will start ringing. You are on your way.

Once again, congratulations. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
