Default heading to the lake....

Mrs.Trout and I are heading to the lake tomorrow for a well deserved 5 day get away.
we'll be up there all by ourselves for the first couple day's and then all the kids will be joining us for the weekend. we even went out and got the grand baby a new life jacket so we can get him out on the boat. I sure hope that I can get a picture of him with a fish...

I haven't done much scroll sawing here lately other than a gift Mrs.Trout needed for a co-worker which I whipped out in an hour last night...

hopefully my magazine will be here when we get back and I can get started on all those great projects....

You guys have fun Trout.

Nice bottle holder. Funny how those little things make great gifts.

Regards,
Marcel

Marcel, I'm guessing they had to buy a new life jacket for the baby because he didn't have one as this was the first time on the boat for him and all the rest do have life jackets and wear them, right Trout? At least that's the way I read it.

Default I just thought I would share some photos of our trip...

this was our first trip with the grand baby and I wanted to brag a little...
Marcel, I just didn't want to see you comment under my pictures so I deleted them...I under stand how you feel, but we would never do anything to harm our baby...

Betty, yes we have live jackets ready to go for everyone in the boat, THAT'S THE LAW and anyone under the age of 12 must ware one at all times.
that's why we go to this lake, there is NO body contact with the water which keeps the jet skiers, water skies and the other idiots away..
plus there is a 25 MPH speed limit....

no need to reply to this thread....
from now on I will keep any and all posts scroll saw related....

I hope Trout and Marcel are exchanging private messages right now to patch up their differences. You're both nice guys and it would be a shame to fall out over something that's so unimportant in the grand scheme of things.

Trout, it's the little insights into people's lives that make them real for us, that creates a community. Let's keep that community going, huh?

Trout,

I apologise. the adult's life jackets weren't visible in the pictures and I NEVER inferred that you would do anything to hurt Caleb.

On the contrary I said he was the only one protected and it would be a tragedy for him to be the sole survivor: meaning I thought it was unfortunate that the adults did not wear their lifejackets.

Safety was my concern, not Caleb's, your's & your kid's. But then I'm not a fisherman nor do I own any type of marine equipment, so what do I know?

Don't limit yourslef to scrollsaw subjects on account of that one remark by me, those trouts that got seeded were an awesome sight :-) and I do enjoy your fishing tales.

Again, please accept my apologies for being corrosive in my remarks, I did not mean to demean you or your family in any way. I just wanted to express a personal thought on water safety, and this was the wrong way to do it.

Trout, that's my kind of lake. I wish we had lakes around here that had a hp limit. Twenty five horse would be perfect, because that is all I have. The main reason I don't fish on particular lakes is due to the water skiers and show offs on jet skis. Those were some great photos and looks like the whole family had a great time. Man, I envy you. We're getting snowed on again. They're also talking about another possible snowstorm this coming wekend. I don't think spring will ever get to Minnesota.

Do you need a spare 25 hp motor, Trout. I may have one for sale.

Default time to end this thread....

Marcel, I worked on those two posts for 2 hours just to delete them an hour later. I have to say that I do like that delete feature....

can you belive 5 minutes into the ride Caleb falls asleep...

Calebs with his mom and dad. this is our future police son and the one thing I did get this weekend was his badge number so now I can complete my Police project for his graduation. He graduates from the acadamy May 4.
Marcel's worried about a life jacket, just think he'll be wearing a bullet proof vest 4 day a week.....

I accept your apology and were still friends...

The creek that flows through my property is stocked every year for trout season. It is always humorous to me to watch the stocking truck come down the road with his 'entourage' behind. I'll bet there was 25 cars/trucks following him down the road this year. I'll also bet 1 week after opening day... my yard is already fished out. Guess I'll keep my $30 in my pocket this year. No need to buy a license and stamp. This will be the first year since we moved here that I didn't get a license. Oh well...more time to make sawdust.

Trout.. when our little ones were small and couldn't get to sleep at night, we'd pile them in the car and take them for a ride around the block. By the time we got back to the house they'd be out like a light... sometime Mom would be too. Looks like you can do the same with the boat and Caleb.

P.S. Don't forget those pictures at graduation when you give him the badge and cuffs.
