| Some military advice Scrollers,
I need some input from the present/retired military members. I've finally got the pattern done for my pastor's son who went into the marines. In the spce at the bottom right corner I'd like to put his name and something, but I'm not sure what that 'something' should be. I was thinking of:
name
rank (at time of picture)
USMC
Do any of you who've been in the service have any ideas as to what would be meaningful? Also, how do you think it would best look. Jeff (workin with wood) suggested an engraved plate. I could go with that, or scroll it in depending on how much was there (translate-how small the print needs to be). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

| Marine Corps Motto....Semper Fi (Always Faithful). That would fit nicely and be appropriate.

| You did a fine job on his portrait Bruce! As Neal pointed out Semper Fi would be a perfect addition.

| Thanx for the great idea. Now . . .
do I use "Semper Fi" or "Semper Fidelis"?
Sounds picky, but not being a Marine I don't want to commit an unpardonable sin
