| Steve. I love the pattern and the cut is a great job.
If I could offer you one thing tho it would be this. The line where the ply panels are fused really takes away from the beauty of the wood grain and thus the beauty of the overall piece IMO.
I hope you don't mind that I saved it and indicated what I am referring to. I ruined a portrait one time when this line fell accross a person's mouth and, since then, I always make sure it doesn't fall in the portait anywhere.
This is just my opinion bud. Terrific job. |

| Kerry, thanks for pointing that out. I had to go look at it again and looking at the actual portrait it doesn't show that dark until you tilt it. It is funny how the light plays on the wood. I need to make a light box so I can get a good straight on photo. Steve |

| Steve, did you make the frame, and if so, did you put the texture in it? Good job on the piece.

I have a couple photos that I took outside here. It still shows but not quite as bad. Steve |

| I also have to agree that the line thru the wood really is distracting. It pulls the viewers eyes right to the imperfection. Something similar happened to me just once. Ever since then, I've decided I would rather discard the wood rather then use it. I also make sure any imperfections at all aren't going to show on the final cutting. This goes for knots and whorls. |

Nice cuttings tho and good job on the frames. | Well I can't guaranty that one Kerry. See this is solid wood that comes in glued together strips to make panels for cabinet doors. The reason that it is put together like this is to add strength and to reduce warping. I will try to use less obvious joinlines in the future but am quite certain that in the right light and tilted the right way they will show some. The price was right on this wood though they were paying me by the hour to take it. Steve |
