Default Birthday Gift

Nadine, my wife, is having a birthday next week.
I designed a Welsh Lovespoon for it.
This is really my first attempt at carving one. This is made from resawn Maple flooring 1/4 thick.
I still have to dish the spoon and I may do an inlay of a script "N" in the heart with walnut or mahogany.

The knot was drawn with Aenigma Fonts knotmaker program.
The rest was done freehand with Serif PagePlus.

I know I should have posted it on the other board but that would spread me out too far

Carl,

It looks great. I'm sure your wife will love it. And I'm learning to carve too but don't spend much time over on the other board. I kept losing track of who was who and which board they were on.

It's more fun over here anyway.

I think it is purdyier than a cats whisker-- you are doing Great my friend- by all means Do inlay her N in the heart. By the way -- you did make the spoon cradle big enough that it fits didn't you ? I think it will be awsome when you get the bowl carved in it and her inital on it-- GOOD JOB -- ( and who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks)
Love ya
