"Besides, I'm building one, and it's for my wife, and it won't be exactly like the photo because it's wood not ink. That's my story and I'm sticking to it."
Sigh. This is open to interpretation isn't it? In your first post here on this thread, are you sure you did not give others permission that wasn't your's to give?? "
Feel free to grab and print it out...free pattern here for anyone interested."
Jeff, you have shown us some fantastic work and have mentioned how you'd like have some articles (projects even perhaps) published. Personally, I'd love to see you prosper in the scrolling community but worry regarding how badly you may really want this dream to become reality. Please be very careful. You are very talented and I am sure there are scrollers who will follow your lead.
Simply saying "It said it was free designs ..." isn't always enough.
Make sure you have it in writing from the original artist, and give credit to the image and creator that inspired you work. It's not only good karma, it's about integrity - and you will go far with it.
We (Sue and I) just acquired the permissions of an artist who is featured in some mainstream magazines to use his artwork in creating patterns. Sue is very fond of his style and was extremely happy to have made these arrangements with him ... I don't even know his name, but that he works with celebrities....
You talked about another project, and figuring out the design of it... if there is anything I can do to help, please feel free to PM. I was thrilled to see your photo as a winner in one of the scrolling competitions, and look forward to seeing more of YOUR designs. Please be careful.
Some may wonder, why I didn't just PM you with this, and it was a thought. However, we see this sort of topic often and I realize there were many who viewed this thread, perhaps taking you up on your pattern offer... so it is relevant to them as well.
Take care
Toni
