Default "Weekend Scroller 2006" CD done.

Well IT'S Done. Whew!

Sue and I finally FINALLY finished our first compilation of patterns and put it on CD. Never did I think, when I started scrolling and designing that I would have to learn so much about writing, formating and publishing. It really does take on a life of it's own.

Overall we are very pleased with the collection and were glad we took the time we did. Many changes occurred and I believe they are all for the better. Hopefully we did an okay job on the publishing end of the project as well.

This weekend we had a small celebration to breath a sigh of relief. Whether or not the collection sells, we did finish it and that is what was most important to us.

I'd like to thank the folks on here that supported and encouraged us to work through all the problems. A sincere thank you to those who pushed just a little to get us back on track and focused when we strayed to other things.

Time to get back to the celebration. I just wanted to include those friends on here in the day.

Thank you.

Toni and Sue

Hi Toni

Congratulations on finishing the project..:-)

I'm assuming that the 5 designs shown on your site by the CD are on it but is there ging to be any further information as to what the other 10 designs are?

Thanks Ian.

There are 15 Projects on the CD (not including the ones that are available in both fretwork and segmentation) including:

1."Size Matters Fisherman's Clock" (in fretwork and segmentation versions)
2.A Gothic Cross (in fretwork and segmentation versions)
3.Personalized Keychains (fretwork)
4.Message Center, as either a chalkboard or whiteboard. This project covers the use of bevels.
5.A "Kewl Mirror", (Segmentation and discusses the use of acrylic mirror)
6."His Spot in the Closet" Tie Rack (segmentation with fretwork)
7."Laugh Sing Dance Dream" statue (fretwork)
8.Unicorn Mirror (both fretwork and segmentation versions)
9.Dragon Corkboard (both fretwork and segmentation versions)
10."Story Begins" statue (fretwork)
11.Baby Boot Plaque" (segmentation with some fretwork)
12."Family Puzzle" (segmentation/intarsia with some fretwork)

Hopefully that helps.

Yes thanks, Toni

Just wish I had known about the CD and I wouldn't have ordered the juke box pattern separately last week ...

Seems like a pretty good deal anyhow...:-)

One question about the jukebox pattern - do you have a source for acrylic mirror?

A Canadian source would be nice - only because of the postage times! I'm not quite sure what happens to orders from the US sometimes - first time I ordered blades from FD they took about 10 days - the second time 3 and a half weeks!!!

That was nice to hear Ian, that you thought it still was a good deal. Thanks.

Sorry about the Jukebox CD thing... but we didn't want to keep you waiting. So, if you decide to order the CD, I'll put something extra in there considering the circumstances.

As for the Acrylic Mirror, I can get it at Home Depot. It comes in sheets of 20x36 or so. Which you may definately use all up if you do all the projects on the CD. I find it a really enjoyable material to cut and love the outcome.

Maybe see if I can interest Shannon in an article using it. It is really nice stuff.

As for the blades, if you like the FD, there is also a Canadian supplier - Island Chimes. Maybe check them out and see what they can do for shipping times for you.

Take care
Toni

Hi Toni

Thanks very much for the info regarding the mirror- I'll check out Home Depot next time I'm down in Halifax.

I'd seen the Island Chimes site before and wondered about ordering from there but it seems significantly cheaper ordering direct from Mike. Not sure how much quicker it would be anyhow - we got two letters a week or so ago - one from my mother in England which took 6 days - and one from Sue's mom in Ontario - it took 13 days!!!! Iused to complain about the UK postal system till I discovered Canada Post ...

Order for the CD is one the way..:-)

But you're not in The Great White North ..

I know Mike sends them out promptly when he gets an order - it's just whatever happens to them en route that slows them down - US Mail, Canada Post, US Customs, Canada Customs???

I guess i just need to be more patient and/or better organised..lol

Ian (Wondering why in England we use Royal mail to post things and in Canada we mail things through Canada Post .. )

If you think Canada mail is slow--
My ex sent out valentine cards one year -- everyone got theirs except my mom and me.. He was a long haul trucker and mailed them on the road..
Well-- that was 10 years ago-- and they still haven't arrived. He wasn't one to forget to send cards out for what ever the reason so I got to tease him for a few years about not sending one.. but I know he really did.
