| 24inch x 30.5inch pattern request 'portrait' I'm getting ready to do a portrait of a family... 'long story made short'
A friend of mine (a pontiac fiero aquaintance) has recently been found by his 26 year old duaghet (she looked for him for awhike online and finaly found him.) pretty kool huh...?
Well it gets even more shocking. he hasnt seen his daughter in 23 years (still hasnt met up with her yet. he just sent me this photo to see what i can come up with.) he wants me to cut out this portrait on the scroll saw, i showed him the fiero logo i cut out, and then the protrait of me and my girlfriend, and then my most recent project 'guarding the den' (all in my gallery) so he got the idea of me cutting this out for him. I dunno what to charge him for this project. but i need to see if i can get a decent, pretty detailed pattern made of this protrait before i can discuss the price with him. I'll also need some suggestions in that area as well as i've never sold something this size before. but i'd really like to come through on this one for him.
the portrait is approximately the size in inches listed in the title '24" x 30.5" ' i'd really appriciate any help provided. If i use your pattern, will you charge me? (i'll need to know these kind of details.)
post here if you would like me to email the image to you, so you may try to make a pattern of it for me. the picture is too big to post on here.
THANKS ALOT! in advance

| Thanks to Steviegwood... I have been set up with a patter. not as big as we were hoping for. But still big enough for the customer (thats what matters right?)
The Customer does approve of the patern and will be ording one for himself as well. So my best bet will probally be t cut them both at the same time...
here's the pattern, stevie dis most of the work, I sent the pattern to the customer and he touched up a few areas that we bugging him, this is what we've come up with.
Thanks Steve, lets hope this things turn out just as good when i get her cut out...

| portait Hi Tim, I am glad to hear that it is customer approved. That was the most important part. When you get it done if you could post the original photo that we started from along with the pattern and finished project everyone would be able to see the comparison. I was happy to help you with this project. Now get to cuttin. Steve |

I spoke to the guy whose buyig it (the father of the mother in the portrait) and his reaction was "wow, thats going to look absolutely fantastic when its compleate." So if he's happy, thats a good sign.

| thanks fellas' i obviously wasn't in it for the money, got 250 for it but it cost me time and material...
-had to buy 2 frames ($16.00 a piece) 1st one looked like crap...
-spent probally 20bux on the wood after shipping charges for that (i cut 2 at once) so if he'd like another there it is...
-spent 21.85 to ship it 2 day air to him (get it there before the holidays)
I've got a life and all, but it took awhile (all the in's and ours, tension adjustments and all...
But im proud of it (i aslo think it turned out decent...)
what would you guys have charged for something of this nature?
~Tim
