I have never seen one of these, in person, before. Are they normally left bare wood, or is there some kind of finish on them? Also, how do you get the drawn lines on it? I'm guessing freehand with some kind of pen/marker. I'll have to spend some time practicing freehand drawing to prepare for this project. What kind of pen/marker would you use that doesn't bleed on the wood?

I Have just recently found my way back into using the scrollsaw. I just love these patterns, is there a pattern book that you know of available to buy? I am located in Australia but obviously the Austrian heritage is coming out of me!!!
