Just curious.....what format do you guys prefer the patterns to be posted in.... a pdf file, or a image file, such as a jpg or bmp? For me, it is just as easy to make one as it is the other, or even both. Just wondering what most people liked the best for this website.

Good question - the answer took some time .. but I vote for .pdf as my candidate. Thanks for asking! And thanks for the patterns you share with the rest of us! Keep towing them up here

G'day Matt, PDF is good, but I have a hellova time resizing them. This a probably like scrolling with a flint knife, but I screen capture the image and then save it as either a jpg, gif, or something and import into my printing programme and resize to what I want.

Avoid pdf unless the dimensions are critical. gif and jpg are easier to resize. Edgar |

I prefer designing and printing vector files (pdf's) as there's no loss in resolution regardless of how much they're enlarged. Adobe will allow you to resize to fit on standard paper or any other percentage you like. With jpg's and gif's you lose resolution the larger it gets and can get to the point of unuseable if the resolution isn't all that great. Rapid Resizer includes instructions on how to import pdf's but even then they're converted to jpg files and there can be a significant loss of resolution.

I prefer pdf as well. JohnB,there is a program called Universal Document Converter, you can find out more it from the website listed below. Download - Create PDF with ease! - Universal Document Converter The way it works is it converts a pdf file to a jpeg image it will also do other conversions as well, and you do that by opening the file, select page with image on and click print, then click the drop down menu where your printer is shown and select Universal Document Converter as your printer, click print, it will then save it to a default location or you can change the settings to ask you where you want it saved to. I have tried the demo version which allows you to try all available features of Universal Document Converter. There is no restriction or limitation except for the addition of a watermark on each output file. I like this program and to remove the watermark you have to purchase it. |

PDF is my first choice. or a full size jpg will work. if someone posts a small version of a gif or jpg when you print them you get what I call jagged fat lines (hard to follow). Thanks for asking.
