I made this simple cross pattern this morning. It is similar to Sue Walker's Cross and Dove but it is a one piece cut. I was hoping to get some input before I cut more of them. I am working at the moment on a small collection of Christian based pieces to display on consignment at a local Christian Book & Supply store. Also, i was wondering if anyone knew of any copyright problems with using Microsoft Clip Art objects in design. Does buying the software give me the rights to use it in an item for sale? The dove is MS Clip art and if there is a problem, I'll just modify it slightly for my use. I'll also share the pattern on here if there is no problem.

After doing a lot of reading, I can't find anything that prevents me from using the clipart. Here is the pattern I cut it from. You have to be real careful and look at the pattern before you start cutting The lines in the bird that intersect the cross must not be cut. I highlighted them with an exacto knife after the cut was done. Cut the outer edge of the bird and when veining the wings make a single cut following the flow of the wing indentation. (does that make sense???) The picture size is fairly large but you can resize it to whatever size you want to cut it.

I cut a few of these today. Here's one in clear poplar with a cherry stain and another in red oak. My wife wanted the one in oak for our bedroom wall so I guess I'll have to cut another one...lol.
