Default nor cal snowflake

Hello hello! I am a tree and leaf aholic I adore oak tree's and incorporate them into almost all of my designs. I am als a paper snowflake nut! I make them with so many patterns. I then use them as my patterns to create my wood scrolled ones.
My favorite ornies on the tree are the wood ones I made from my sons paper snowflakes way back in the pre kindergarten days. he is now 11 and I can only imagine they will become more precious as the years pass!
So anyway, here is my pattern I hope you enjoy it!

The really cool part? This could be an ornament OR a Trivet on the table . I have mine displayed for an upcomming Christmas bazaar in an Antique window frame...you know the kind with multiple paines? Cup hooks inserted into the frames make for super easy displaying. I have six of these per window and they look soo cool!

I hope you do try it guys! It is a change from your old fashioned kind of snowflakes.
I was walking back from my moms and saw a clump of leaves laying in a puddle. It was a tip from a branch? You know the one that would have the smallest new leaves and the tips? Anyway...it was sprawled out with an acorn next to it and I thought, dangit THAT is pretty-I wish I could replicate that somehow! Then I saw the symetry of it and thought OMG IT Loooks like a snowflake! It was funny, because I ran the last few feet home Get the paper get the paper GET the PAPER! I HATE when I forget and idea! so, I have several of these guys cut out and I am only going to be making more! I have used different leaves as well. Fun Fun Fun! The ones I am carving now are cut from a piece of Myrtle? It is so lovely! Then I made smalley ones and they are cut and carved from Cherry. I just love them! Hope you make some!

Very nice. Paper is a bit flimsy for a trivet but wood is good. Thanks for the pattern.

I did a paper snow flake last year, and it was a new experance .(no saw dust)
I guess it would be something to learn how to do so that when our children take our sharp tools away from us we'll be able to cut these out with safty sissors in THE HOME.
Are there any placees where I could grt some of these patterns?
