Here's an early Christmas project for all. Free for one week, only. The pattern will be offered for sale afterwards.
It is partially done as fretwork and partially segmentation. The former is the main sign lettering and holly branches. The bow pieces can be any thickness you have lying about. The numbering (I didn't think was needed but included them just in case.) about the holly is the assembly sequence: 1 goes on the bottom, etc.
Paint the hidden area of part black to emphasize the bow 'folds' or you can leave out the folds. Your choice. Also, the personalization is done with a font to match the main sign. It's called Dolf (one of my fonts offered for free on my site). Personalization can be omitted. Again, your choice. I'd use a leather dye on the bow to let any grain show through. You can also paint the backer board green so "Merry Christmas" is a bit more colorful.
Also, the main lettering doesn't have to be done in fretwork, either. You could cut individual letters glued to the backing for a raised appearance.
I hope you can use it. I haven't contributed much herein of late and wanted to give back after getting so much from this boards wonderful membership. If you cut one, send me a pic so I can post it on my website.
