Default Lathart by Rod Skramstad

Check out all the new lathart by a new contributor to the lathart site. His name is Rod Skramstad, and he has been doing a bunch of traditional lathart. Doing so in this style is really quite easy, so don't be afraid to give it a shot. The drawing part of it is also just as simple.

Here's somethingelse I posted on lathart on another site a while back if any one is interested in giving it a shot. I've been cutting my own lath, but rod has been picking his up pre-cut at local lumber yards. This gives the lath a rustic look. I really like it and am hoping to give it a shot when things slow down at home here a little bit. Four kids and running a private restaurant can really keep a person busy. Anyways, happy scrolling to everyone out there.

Chris I really love the lathart that you and the members of the lathart site produce.
I reall have to dedicate some time to trying it.
I have to admit though my favorite piece is the golf course.

Thanks for the very interesting links Chris.
I too am going to have to make time and give this a try......even if I have to cover the wood with paint!

"this style is really quite easy, so don't be afraid to give it a shot. The drawing part of it is also just as simple."

don't be afraid....one should never be afraid to try something different.....this past year after leaving a 27 year career in custom cabinets which i could almost do with my eyes closed....i've started playing guitar, started cooking, learned to play poker and actually made money doing so, took up painting (check it out rod skramstad's Page - idrawandpaint ) discovered traditional lathart .........trying new stuff is always good.....not always as easy ,as some may say, but always worth it.....what is simple for some may be a challenge for others, but always try....to me custom cabinet work was simple....to some scrolling is simple...to some drawing is simple......keep trying new stuff!
