G'day Jim,
That's a great idea, and I'll file it away for future use.
I have made money boxes and put perspex on the front and back. By unscrewing the prespex the cash can be got at.

I also usually cut my coin slot across the box, not along it.

Across huh? I will have to try that. You can also use glass instead of Plexiglass on the inside. Lots cheaper and will not scratch like Pexiglass will over time.
