So how many frequent forum members have participated in this year's SSWC Best Project Design Contest?

Let's hear from those who put their hat in the ring, and some details on what you've entered (Fretwork/Intarsia/Segmentation/Marquetry/Boxes/Compound/Toys/Puzzles etc.)

Default Nope ... not in the running

No Theresa, I haven't.

Since THIS competition is about designing, the best part of the SSWC competition for me is seeing the winning entries.

I get such a thrill when others design something original and make it work at the saw. I really enjoy scrolled work I haven't "seen before", or some rendition of it. I actually believe it's more thrilling for me to see something I "simply love (at first sight)" that brings out a "Oh Wow!", or "Man! That's NICE", than anything I design myself.

Not too long ago a scroller on this forum emailed me with a project he/she made. It was original and I have often returned to the photos to admire them some more. I REALLY hope to see this scroller do well in this design competition.

Take care
Toni

I'm looking forward to seeing the projects too! I hope your scroller does well too.
I've read of others who submitted (or were going to anyway) - hopefully they will "speak" up and let us know.

Well, I fully intended to enter a project. In fact, I started drawing it up about 3 to 4 months ago at a time when my internet was acting up, so I couldnt get on here (I spend quite a bit of time here on the forum). I sat with the radio playing and used my tablesaw as a tabletop to draw on.Its 2/3rds drawn up, and I got busy on a few other projects, and didnt get back to it.I intended to get it done after getting my Christmas gifts done, but then everything got turned upside down here for a while, and I wasnt able to finish it up. So, I can say I have a little headstart on the next contest!
I do have a very simple, yet useful project I may send in just so I can say I did try, even though I dont think it would interest the judges at all. I wont say what the project is in case the judges read this forum, but I think after judges decide they will post pictures for the peoples choice voting, and we all can see what everyone designed at that time. Good luck to all the entrants. Dale

I'm more or less in the same boat as you Dale. Had an idea, just never had time to get 'er done.

Procrastinators of the world unite
Count me in on that group.
The prizes are a wonderful draw, and I did have every intention of submitting something. To tell you the truth I have no idea what I would submit, but I know it would have been good LOL

Hopefully my head will be in a better place next time.

I did submit. Wrote a 47 page dissertation too, so on the slim chance that I might win an entry, the entire magazine will only be my project.

Oh...and if my entry is picked, ssw will be shipped in a brown bag and will only be found on the shelves of your favorite adult store.
